Exzess und Entzug (GRK 2132)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>sind an der Fakult\u00e4t f\u00fcr Philologie der Ruhr-Universit\u00e4t Bochum zum <strong>15. Oktober 2019<\/strong> folgende Stellen zu besetzen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12 Promotionsstellen (TV-L 12\/13, 25,8 Wochenstunden) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Graduiertenkolleg richtet sich vor allem an Doktoranden (m\/w\/d) der Medien-, Kultur-, Film-, Literatur- und Kunstwissenschaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Promotionsstellen sind befristet f\u00fcr die <strong>Dauer von 3 Jahren<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Graduiertenkolleg erforscht die medialen, insbesondere die textuellen, die audiovisuellen und digitalen Formen des Dokumentarischen sowie die kulturellen Bedingungen, unter denen es bestimmten Medien gelingt, zu dokumentarischen Leitmedien zu avancieren. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt dem Spannungsverh\u00e4ltnis zwischen einer exzessiven Pr\u00e4senz des Dokumentarischen in den digitalen Kulturen der Gegenwart und der unvermeidlichen Selektivit\u00e4t, die sich an den blinden Flecken dokumentarischer Praktiken ebenso wie an ihren experimentellen Formen und \u00e4sthetischen Verfremdungen untersuchen l\u00e4sst. Dies geschieht in den vier Arbeitsbereichen \u201eFormengeschichte und Theoriebildung des Dokumentarischen\u201c, \u201eMedien-Poetiken des Dokumentarischen\u201c, \u201eSelbstdokumentation und Affektkulturen\u201c sowie \u201eTechno-Politiken des Dokumentarischen\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Kolleg ist als strukturierte Graduiertenausbildung f\u00fcr deutsche wie internationale Graduierte konzipiert, die sich in einem Auswahlverfahren durch ihr fachliches Profil und ein herausragendes, interdisziplin\u00e4r anschlussf\u00e4higes und im zeitlichen Rahmen der F\u00f6rderung realisierbares Promotionsvorhaben auszeichnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Aufgaben der Promovierenden (m\/w\/d) bestehen in der Arbeit an einem eigenst\u00e4ndigen Forschungsprojekt (Dissertation) sowie in der aktiven Mitwirkung am Forschungs- und Studienprogramm des Kollegs. The&nbsp;<strong>dynamic coexistence <\/strong>of different disciplines and disciplinary cultures presents researchers and students alike with unique opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The university\u2019s Faculty of Philology invites applications for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12 PhD posts (m\/f\/d) (TV-L 12\/13, 25,8 h\/w)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>in the DFG-funded research training group<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Documentary Practices: Excess and Privation (GRK 2132)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>with a start date of <strong>15 October 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research training group is primarily aimed at doctoral candidates from the fields of media, cultural, film and literary studies and art history\/theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The term of the PhD posts is limited of <strong>three years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research training group investigates the different media forms of documentary practice \u2013 in particular, audio-visual, textual and digital forms \u2013 and the cultural conditions under which particular types of media come to dominate this practice. One particular area of focus concerns the tension between the ubiquity of documentary forms in today\u2019s digital cultures and the unavoidable need for selectivity \u2013 a phenomenon that can be investigated by attending to the blind spots of documentary practices and their experimental forms and aesthetic dissociations. This investigation is subdivided into four areas: \u2018Formal History and Theorisation of Documentary Practice\u2019, \u2018Media-Poetics of Documentary Practice\u2019, \u2018Self-Documentation and Cultures of Affect\u2019 and \u2018(Techno-)Politics of Documentary Practice\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group is intended to provide structured training for German and international postgraduate researchers,&nbsp;who are selected according to the criteria of&nbsp;an outstanding academic profile and an exceptional proposal for an interdisciplinary PhD project that can be completed within the funding period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PhD candidates (m\/f\/d) will be required to work on an independent research project (thesis) and to actively participate in the group\u2019s research and study programme.
